Having a burglar alarm fitted is a visual deterrent which can discourage thieves from attempting to break into your home or business. It also gives you peace of mind that your family, home, pets or business are being protected.
There are different types of burglar alarms:
Bells Only
This type of alarm, if triggered, sets off the outside bell box, which will sound for 15 minutes, alerting neighbours, but this may be ignored.
With our alarm systems, the solution we offer is to install a module, which via the broadband and an app on your smartphone, will alert you of an activation. You can also set and unset the system using your smartphone.
Perimeter detection (covering windows & doors) can be installed, this then allows you and your pets, to move round the home freely, safe in the knowledge that the system is armed and protecting everyone at any time during the day or night.
The rise of digital technology has led to a huge increase in the use of wireless burglar alarm systems. As their name suggests, they don’t rely on wires and cables to function, and today’s systems are more sophisticated and reliable than ever. The main advantages of a wireless system are they are easier to install, they’re portable and you can upgrade them with extra sensors at any time.
With this type of system, we will notify you on an annual basis that the maintenance contract is due for renewal. It is important that a service is carried out to replace the batteries in the wireless detectors to ensure the reliability of the system, this also gives you access to our emergency contact facility.
Monitored Systems
With this type of system, the alarm is linked to an Alarm Receiving Centre (ARC) should an activation occur the monitoring station will contact a nominated key holder to advise. Should two separate detectors on independent circuits activate, within a pre-defined time window, a confirmed alarm condition is then notified to the ARC, the Police will then also be notified.
Certain homes or businesses may be required to have this type of system, depending on the risk and insurance companies would normally specify.
As an NSI approved installer, we can also install and maintain this type of system. In addition to the annual maintenance visit, a six-monthly check is carried out and payment is also due for the ARC fees.
Smart Home Systems
Burglar alarm systems have changed dramatically in their technology and can perform many more actions than ever before.
A smart home security system allows you to monitor your property from your mobile phone or tablet.
You can get a video alert when an activity is detected and can instantly get a live view of your home through your smartphone app.
If you have a Visonic Powermaster alarm system and want to upgrade your system, you can substitute your control panel with the IQ panel and pair it with your existing sensors, such as door contacts, window shock detectors and motion sensors.
You can also connect it with your indoor and outdoor cameras and get a live view from all the cameras on your panel. The panel doesn’t need to be installed on a wall; you can take it to any room around your home.
If your cameras have a speaker and a microphone, you can talk and answer live. The best part is that it is connected to your smartphone as well. So, if you are not at home, you can still answer and monitor everything through your phone.
It is a future-proof system, whenever you introduce a new smart home device to this system, it will automatically learn to talk to it and integrate seamlessly.
You can also pair several z-wave smart devices like smart locks, smart lights, and smart thermostats to your control panel, and manage and control them all from one point.
